The Noepe Center is housed in an historic former inn located at 104 Main Street in the heart of Edgartown, MA. Each visiting writer is given a private room in an historic inn. Each room has a private bath, wireless internet and a writing desk. Rooms are considered the writer’s studio, although residents are welcome to work in any of the Center’s common areas. These areas also have wireless internet service. Clean linens and towels are provided to writers. Rooms are cleaned once a week.
In addition to the bedroom studios, there is a living room and formal dining room and sunny communal kitchen. Meals are the responsibility of each resident. In the past, residents have pooled food, prepared meals together and shared dinners are held in the dining room or garden, weather permitting. Island writers and artists are often invited to take part in these informal gatherings.
